Do you have an innovative product or business idea? Do you possess a unique skill set that may be valuable to a startup team? Does your research have potential commercial value? Has the Covid-19 pandemic highlighted a need in search of an innovative solution? If you answered YES to any of these questions, the UCSB Technology Management New Venture Competition (NVC) may be for you!

The NVC information session will help you understand what it takes to transform an idea into a business, define and validate a market, and launch and run a startup. All UCSB students are welcome. The information session will cover how to enter the NVC, key timelines and deadlines, expectations for NVC entrants, and the variety of resources that are available to help you succeed.

Please note: In light of societal and business-related challenges that have resulted from the global pandemic, the 2020-21 NVC will include a “Covid-19” category. The intent of this addition is to enable and encourage students to address problems brought about by the pandemic – whether they are related to the recovery of existing businesses and industries or the identification of innovative solutions to address evolving societal norms and business needs.
