The Goleta Entrepreneurial Magnet (GEM) is a collaboration between the City of Goleta and the University of California, Santa Barbara. GEM’s mission is to strengthen the local economy by supporting new and growing technology entrepreneurs. GEM seeks to be recognized as a world-class regional center of excellence for entrepreneurial technology development and growth for technology-focused startups.
In partnership with the regional Economic Development Collaborative (EDC), Santa Barbara City College School of Extended Learning is pleased to offer business resources to the local community at two satellite Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) where – at NO-COST – business advisors work with business owners and entrepreneurs to help them start-up, grow and navigate today’s complex business environment. EDC Small Business Development Center Advisors will work with companies one-on-one to help with marketing, finance, strategic planning, operations, international trade, and much more.
The Economic Development Collaborative's Inclusive Innovation Hub (iHub2) is a technology service and resource program for Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. The program provides one-on-one tech advising, pitch development, mentor matching, funding options and many other services and resources technology companies need. iHub2 holds a wide variety of networking, mentoring, and industry focused events, and workshops designed to grow businesses. iHub2 is part of a larger, regional entrepreneurial ecosystem and is funded by the State of California.
